CLINTON, Md. (WUSA) — Police in Maryland say one person is dead and several are injured after a multiple-vehicle crash early this morning in Clinton, about 20 miles southeast of Washington, D.C.
The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. and involved a school bus, a tractor trailer, and at least another vehicle.
Officials originally thought no students were on the bus, but have since reported that two teenage students were on board when it crashed and were taken to the hospital. Officials believe their injuries are not life-threatening. The bus driver also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities say one person was killed, nine were evacuated, and six people were taken to the hospital.
Police are still investigating what caused the crash.
