Viking Ocean Cruises was set to sail off the coast of Norway when a predicted storm was hitting.
The Captain of the ship had taken it into an area known for rough waters, and it didn’t go so well.
The ship called for mayday to the shore, but the 20-foot waves made it impossible for another ship to come to the rescue. In all, 479 passengers and crew were airlifted from the ship, back to land.
They are currently investigating why the ship was taken into waters known for being rough, while in the middle of a storm.
