The all-time wins leader in Tyrone history is coming back.
John Franco is expected to be named the new head coach at Tyrone High School Tuesday night pending approval from the school board.
Tyrone Area School District Superintendent Cathy Harlow told WTAJ Monday Franco’s name is on the agenda for the meeting and should go through to bring him back to Tyrone.
Franco helped put Tyrone Football on the map, coaching there for 18 years, and led the school to three state championship games. He brought the school it’s lone state title in football back in 1999.
Franco spent the last two seasons as head coach at Penn Cambria.
