BOALSBURG, PA – Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy made the decision to suspend the 2018 football season due to a lack of participation.

Athletic Director, Chad Walsh, stated, “We have not finished a season with more than 18 healthy players over the past five seasons. This year, we are looking at fewer than 13 who have committed to playing.”

The program will continue to exist. The school’s goal is to develop a reliable feeder program to establish consistency and sustainability.

The school says that “the future of Saint Joseph’s athletics is bright”. Despite there being no football this season, Saint Joseph’s hopes to field a team in the coming years.
