LORETTO, PA- Saint Francis erased a 12-point halftime deficit but shots by Caitlyn Kroll (Bridgeport, Ohio/Bridgeport) and Leah Morrow (Columbus, Ohio/Columbus Africentric) fell short on the final possession as Sacred Heart earned a 69-68 win over Saint Francis in the annual THINK PINK! game for the Red Flash.
Jessica Kovatch (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) went for a game high 25 points but was the only player in double figures for Saint Francis, who was held to just 33 percent shooting on the night and 5-28 (17 percent) from three-point range. Meanwhile, Sacred Heart forced 17 turnovers, turning them into 26 points as the Pioneers shot 46 percent and put three players in double figures in the victory.
The loss snaps the Red Flash seven-game win streak as they fall to 16-9 overall and 11-2 in the NEC. Sacred Heart improves to 10-15 and 6-8 in NEC. Saint Francis will look to bounce back against Fairleigh Dickinson on Monday night. Tip time is set for 6 p.m.
