Senior tight end Brent Wilkerson has officially been dismissed from the Penn State football team following an indecent assault charge in March. Wilkerson did not participate in any spring practices with the Nittany Lions.
“Brent Wilkerson is no longer a member of the Penn State football team due to a violation of team rules,” a spokesperson for Penn State football said in a statement. “We appreciate Brent’s contributions to the program and wish him success in the future.”
According to court documents, a 24-year-old friend of Wilkerson’s drove him home to her apartment after a night out in downtown State College in February. Wilkerson fell asleep on her bed and in the middle of the night pulled himself to her.
From there, Wilkerson attempted to undress the woman despite her telling him repeatedly to stop. Wilkerson then exposed himself to the woman.
Wilkerson’s account of the incident, according to the documents, largely mirrors that of the woman.
