The Pittsburgh Pirates went big right before the 4 p.m. trade deadline Tuesday.
Pittsburgh added starting pitcher Chris Archer from the Tampa Bay Rays. The Pirates traded outfielder Austin Meadows and pitcher Tyler Glasgow plus one more minor league prospect to be named later.
Archer is a two-time all-star and expects to slide into the Pirates’ starting rotation immediately.
