Pirates outfielder suspended 80 games

Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Starling Marte has been suspended 80 games, after testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug.

The announcement was made Tuesday, after Marte tested positive for Nandrolone.

The 28-year old will be ineligible for the postseason if the Pirates qualify.

Marte released a statement following the announcement, saying that neglect and a lack of knowledge led to the mistake and apologized for his actions.
