Another trip to the NCAA Tournament is something Penn State Hockey Head Coach Guy Gadowsky said that is something that makes him.
However, a second consecutive defeat to the Denver Pioneers has him wanting more from the program, but as he looks to the future, he along with his outgoing seniors know the future is bright.
“When I leave this place I’m not going to reflect back on that game. I feel like
seniors on this team, as well as every guy in that dressing room, had made this program better
than it was at the start of the season. With our senior class, we couldn’t be more proud of this
school,” said James Robinson.
“You look at the programs that aren’t in the tournament this year, and you look at the teams
who haven’t been in the tournament two years in a row, there’s some great ones. So we could
look at that and feel very good and be proud,” Gadowsky said.
“Unfortunately, both Autio and I and the rest of the seniors aren’t going to be a part of it. But, we
feel it’s in great hands, and we can’t wait to see what this program does,” Robinson said.
“We have to do a lot better of a job if we’re going to compete at this level,” Gadowsky said.
On a positive note, Denver Head Coach Jim Montgomery said after Saturday’s game that he wants the NCAA to keep the regional in Allentown for years moving forward. He said he was impressed by the great atmosphere at the PPL Center even with his team being the “away” team.
