Penn State football took on a number of NCAA Sanctions in 2012 season.

The Nittany Lions were banned from the postseason for four years, docked 20 scholarships each year for four years, forced to vacate all wins from 1998 to 2011 and fined heavily. The postseason ban, scholarships and wins would be restored years later.

The team has not had a losing season since 2004 despite losing scholarships and postseason opportunities. Since James Franklin took over the team, Penn State has put together a Big Ten Championship and back-to-back 11-win seasons.
