Penn State basketball saw a quick exit in the Big Ten Tournament in Chicago Thursday night.

According to The Athletic reporter Matt Fortuna, Penn State Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics (Athletic Director) Sandy Barbour expects to keep basketball coach Patrick Chambers around for next season:

Penn State finished the season 14-18 on the year and 7-13 in Big Ten play after falling to Minnesota 77-72 in overtime in its first Big Ten Tournament game Thursday night.

Chambers has coached Penn State for eights seasons already. In his eight seasons, Chambers has coached Penn State to two postseason appearances (2014 CBI, 2018). Most notably, Penn State won the NIT (National Invitational Tournament) last season in 2018.

The team has not made the NCAA Tournament since 2011 when its coach was Ed DeChillis.
