Penn State wrestling coach Cael Sanderson announced to reporters Tuesday, wrestler Gavin Teasdale is expected to transfer from Penn State.

Nate Cobler, wrestling beat writer for the our media partner the Centre Daily Times, reports the news:

Teasdale had expectations of competing for Penn State at 125 pounds this season as a freshman.

Teasdale is a four-time PIAA state champion for Jefferson-Morgan High School. He was a true freshman for Penn State who withdrew from school during the fall semester. He credits an illness for his departure.

Sanderson said Teasdale is no longer on the Penn State wrestling roster. He had reportedly been added back to the roster earlier this month and hoped to compete at the Southern Scuffle.

Teasdale only had two losses in his high school career.
