Penn State hockey is known for running off the scoring.
It just did not work out that way Friday.
Penn State fell to No. 4 Ohio State 4-1 and scored its only goal late in the first period. Ludvig Larsson netted the Nittany Lions lone goal on a redirection in front of the net.
Penn State had the game tied up 1-1 after the first period, but could not score again.
These two teams will play again Saturday at 3 p.m. The game has been moved up from 7 p.m. because of expected snowfall.
