Penn State men’s hockey almost pulled off the comeback against Wisconsin at home to open Big Ten Tournament play.
Wisconsin scored the game-winning goal with about 1:30 left in the third period. Penn State had a power play wtih 30 seconds left – pulled its goalie – and went 6-on-4 to try and net a tying goal.
Penn State could not and the Nittany Lions fell 4-3 Friday night.
The team will play Wisconsin again Saturday at 6 p.m. in a must-win game. The first team to win two matches will advance in the tournament.
