Lamar Stevens to Pursue NBA Draft

Penn State’s star basketball player will chase his dream of playing in the NBA, but also keep his options open to return to school.

Forward Lamar Stevens announced he has hired an agent and will maintain his NCAA elligbility while testing the pro waters. Stevens made his announcement at a press conference Tuesday afternoon.

In August of 2018, the NCAA announced changes to its rules regarding its basketball players. College players can now hire agents and still return to school if they wish.

Stevens announced his intentions to do just that. He will make his final decision to return to school or leave for pro basketball depending on the feedback he receives from teams.

Stevens just completed his junior season at Penn State. He received first-team all-Big Ten honors awarded by the league’s coaches. He earned second-team all-Big Ten honors by the conference’s media members.

He averaged 20 points and 7.6 rebounds per game in Big Ten play this past season.
