According to his french basketball team, former Penn State basketball player Jermaine Marshall was found dead Friday.
He was 28 years old.
According to an article posted on the team’s website, Hermine Nantes Basket, Marshall was found dead in his apartment. He joined the team last summer.
He played at Penn State starting in the 2009-2010 season redshirting his first year. He played for the Nittany Lions through the 2012-2013 season.
According to our media partners at the Centre Daily Times, Marshall transferred for his final year of elligibility:
“He was an All-Big Ten honorable mention that season and attempted to pursue a professional career before eventually transferring to Arizona State, where he was tied for fifth in the Pac-12 in scoring (15.3 points per game).”
Penn State Athletics released this statement from coach Pat Chambers Friday
“We are saddened to learn the news about Jermaine Marshall and offer our thoughts and prayers to his family and loved ones. He developed as both a player and a man during his time as a Nittany Lion and had an impact on those around him.”
Marshall is from Etters, Pennsylvania.
Officials are currently investigating the cause of death.
