Now Saquon Barkley is the Pepsi Rookie of the Year in the NFL he announced Thursday.
The Pepsi Rookie of the Year award is decided only by fan vote. The Associated Press Rookie of the Year award will be awarded Saturday, Feb. 2, – the day before the Super Bowl.
Barkley ranked third in the league in rushing yards (1,155) and third for a running back in total yards (129.2 per game).
At Penn State, Barkley tallied 3,843 rushing yards and 1,195 receiving yards. He accounted for 54 total touchdowns (including special teams and one passing.)
He earned a spot in the Pro Bowl in the as a rookie as well.
