Over the past two seasons, the Bishop Guilfoyle boy’s basketball team has had some slow starts. Not because they were losing but because they didn’t have enough players, who were still playing football.
Like that Marauder team, boys hoops has made it’s way to the state playoffs.
Bishop Guilfoyle will see Coudersport at Kane High School on Friday night.
This is a young Marauder team and they’ve said every game is added experience. It’s a group that’s living in the now, but also setting the tone for the future.
“We want to be playing in the state tournament every year,” said sophomore A.J. Labriola. “It means a lot to make it this year. We really need to take it in and work harder because we don’t want this to be the end of our season.”
“Going to the state playoffs is a big accomplishment and whatever you can do from there is icing on the cake,” said junior Josh Trybus. “We know that this experience in the state playoffs will just hopefully translate to next year, and we can have a big year next year, but we have to do something in the state tournament.”
It’s a 7 P.M. tip-off on Saturday night.
