A familiar face made it official Tuesday night.
The Philipsburg-Osceola Mountaineers have announced a new football coach heading into the 2019 season.
I’m excited to announce that the interim tag has been removed from my name and I am the new head football coach for your Philipsburg-Osceola Mountaineers! Thank you @PO_Athletics and @POMountiesPOASD and all of those in the PO community that have supported me. #MountiePride— Coach McGonigal (@CoachMcGonigal) February 27, 2019
Brian McGonigal had served as the team’s interim head coach for the 2018 season as well as the offensive coordinator.
McGonigal had been an assistant coach for the team before filling the interim role. In 2018, P-O finished the season 1-9 highlighted by a 49-0 win over Vincentian Academy on Oct. 5.
