Penn State Altoona athletics announces Saturday’s men’s volleyball matches have been cancelled.

“ALTOONA, Pa. – Due to dangerous weather conditions caused by the impending Winter Storm Harper this weekend, Penn State Altoona’s season-opening men’s volleyball matches scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, January 19, have been cancelled.
With weekend forecasts calling for major snow and ice accumulations across Pennsylvania, a State of Emergency was declared for the Commonwealth on Friday. In light of expected treacherous travel conditions, as well as road closures, Saturday’s volleyball matches were called off.
The matches, which were to include Alvernia University, Immaculata University, Juniata College, and Medaille College, would have marked the first home men’s volleyball events of the 2019 season for Penn State Altoona. Now, the Lions volleyball team is slated start its 2019 schedule on the road next Saturday, January 26, when the team will travel to Lancaster to compete in a tri-match with Lancaster Bible College at 2:00 p.m. and Marymount University at 4:00 p.m.”
