Our Jordan Tracy gives his “Ode to Local Teams” and highlights our state quarter-finalists.

State College Little Lions:

The Little Lions ended their season at 12-2 after a loss to Pine-Richland in the state quarter finals.
Where to begin? It seems we didn’t have a week where Keaton Ellis wasn’t nominated for our play of the week. Ellis ended the year with 50 receptions and nearly 900 yards receiving.

Cohen Russell had just under 850 yards receiving. The man getting them them the ball had quite a year too. Tommy Friberg with nearly 2,300 yards passing.

And a big year for sophomore Dresyn Green who had over 1,000 yards on the ground.

Ridgway/Johnsonburg Elkers:

Moving up north to the District 9 2A Champion Ridgway/Johnsonburg Elkers. The Elkers finished the year 11-2 after falling to Wilmington in the state quarterfinals

They had two very exciting games in route to that district title against Moniteau and Brockway. Junior Paul Gresco had over 1,200 yards passing. Sophomore Gabe Watts led the team with close to 700 yards on the ground. A great year for the Elkers.

Bald Eagle Area Eagles:

The District 6 3A Champion Bald Eagle Area Eagles ended their season at 12-3. A great season for the Eagles.

Led by Junior Quarterback Jaden Jones, who also was a weekly candidate for play of the week, had 2,800 yards through the air. Senior Running Back Blake Roberts ran for over 900 yards on the year. Senior Receiver Nick Turner had some highlight grabs and 800 yards receiving.
