The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday it will add seven new schools for wrestling only. Four of those schools are located in Pennsylvania.
The new additions to the conference are: Bloomsburg, Clarion, Lock Haven, Edinboro, George Mason, Rider and Cleveland State.
The expansion brings the conference total to 15 wrestling teams making it the second largest wrestling conference in the country (behind the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association which includes 16 schools).
All of the seven new schools were previously competing in the Eastern Wrestling League.
The seven additions join the following schools already competing in the MAC: Buffalo, Central Michigan, Kent State, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Missouri, Old Dominion, and SIU Edwardsville.
