Curve Reflect on First Half of 2015

CURVE, Pa– The Altoona Curve hit the midway point of the season on Thursday.

After playing 72 games, they are tied for the best record in the league.

With all the talent they have, and the drive, the future continues to look bright.

“It’s awesome. Attribute it to Tom Prince, our manager. We come out ready to play everyday and get a lot of good work in on our work day and we’re coming to win every night,” says infielder Josh Bell.

The last few years in Curve, PA, haven’t been good. But something is different at PNG Field this season and it’s turning things around.

“They believe in each other, we aren’t getting jobs done in certain situations and those are the difference between wins and losses. It’s great for them to go through this stuff,” says manager Tom Prince.

The Curve are 11 games over .500 just past the midway point of the season after being 20 games under at the same point a year ago.

After a strong start, the Curve have continued to excel despite some big names being moved to Indianapolis.

“It’s who you have here tonight and they know that. It’s next man up and they’re going to continue to grind for the rest of the year that way,” says Prince.

There’s sure to be a few more roster moves in the second half of the season.

But the team knows it’s not necessarily who you have- it’s how you approach things.

“That’s what it is. They go through, they trust what they’ve been doing in their preparation, they trust the plan that they’ve got put in place each and every night. They go out and try to execute it to the best of their abilities.”
