Penn State kicks off the 2017 football season in less than one month. Expectations are high in Happy Valley and across the country.

The preseason Amway Coaches Poll was released on Thursday. The Nittany Lions are No. 6.

The Big Ten has four teams in the poll, all in the top 10.

In addition to Penn State, Ohio State opens at No.2.  Michigan is No. 9 and Wisconsin comes in at No. 10.

Alabama will enter the season with the No. 1 ranking again. The Crimson Tide received 49 of the 65 first place votes.
