When the Scarlet Dragon girl’s basketball team gets a lead, they often put the pedal to metal and are never looking back.  A 62-32 win over Purchase Line on Wednesday night is the perfect example of that.

“We did start out really fast.  Sometimes we start out slow and Rob usually really gets on us for that but I’m glad that we started out quick and took care of them early making it easier for the rest of the way,” said junior guard Hannah Johnston.

Selfless play, quick passing, and plenty of outside shooters have been a recipe for success in Martinsburg this season.

“We’ve had our ups and downs but honestly, every practice we go in, everybody pushes each other.  We know we want to make each other better,” said sophomore guard Cassie Mock.  “I know a lot of times, going one-on-one works at practice all the time.”

Central’s had plenty of quick starts this season and they hope it can continue when they meet Penns Valley.
