On to the high school hardwood the Bishop Carroll Lady Huskies are district champs and they know that with that, comes a target as they move into the PIAA opener this weekend.

“In a way, you have a little bit of pressure on your back,” said senior Courtney Link.  “You’re the one seed.  If you get beat, they beat you, but I don’t look at it that way.  I think we’re the one seed, we deserved that spot.  But win or lose, we always play our hearts out.”

The Huskies have never been one to shy from a fight, and they’ll get one when they meet Coudersport out of district nine, at Central Cambria High School, for a 4 P.M. tip-off on Saturday.

Having played in and won league and district crowns, has Bishop Carroll ready for the state atmosphere.

“We’ve been in intense games before, like the conference championships so we kind of know the big game atmosphere and we know how to deal with that now,” said Ellie Yahner.
