St. Marys is home to a new program aimed at teaching firearm safety and marksmanship.
The American Legion is hosting a junior shooting club. The program recently wrapped up it’s first year.
Up to twenty shooters, ages 11 to 18 can participate.
This year a very impressive 14-year-old is gaining a lot of attention.
“One of our female shooters ended up being our top shooters,” said Michael Groll, program director. “She is well on her way to her marksmanship badge which is a very difficult feat. I’m trying for myself and she is very ahead of me.”
That young lady is Katie Krull. It is very impressive to see her in action. If you are interested in the junior shooting club you can contact the St. Marys American Legion. They will be accepting applicants for the next class in the near future.
