When you drive down State Street in Coalport  the black bears are hard to miss.

“I have an addiction.” Joanna Gallaher told us, “I’m fascinated. I love black bears.”

Welcome to Josie’s Family Restaurant. Joanna Gallaher reopened the restaurant three years ago.

In the summer, campers from Glendale come out of the woods for a home cooked meal.

Once we heard Josie’s had a breakfast challenge we rushed to the kitchen. The Pancake Challenge is a huge stack on pancakes, eggs, sausage and more.  Only 24 people have ever finished the meal. One of the few was Bob Kelley from New Jersey.

Kelley says, “we perfected the way you actually eat the pancake. You actually hollow out the center, you eat that first, then you put the syrup in the middle then you kind of eat around it.”

Josie’s has become so popular that Joann would like to expand.  Right now the lines on Sunday’s are so long, they are forced to turn people away.

“On Sundays, we serve anywhere from 325-425 meals on a Sunday in this little restaurant that seats 72,” Joann told us.

Joann credits the success of her restaurant to her dedicated work staff.  She said everyone loves coming to work every day.

If you want to stop by, breakfast is served all day.
