Blue Apron, Sun Basket, Hello Fresh – they are all meal prep services that have gained popularity in recent years.

Now a restaurant in Johnstown is taking that concept and keeping it local.

“We want to go further and do something where we’re preparing it for you,” said Jeremy Shearer, owner of Press Bistro Cafe.

Press Bistro is already a popular restaurant in the downtown area, but now it’s adding “Fresh Express” to it’s menu.

“For the busy professional it’s a nice way to have some meals that are ready to go whether you’re getting home later from work or you need something to take to work for lunch,” said Shearer.  

All customer’s have to do is pop it in the microwave.  The meal prep service is only about seven weeks old, but it’s already a successful idea.  

“A lot of people are gluten free,” said Jennifer Shearer. They want to eat healthy. It’s challenging but we make it work.”

The meals are meant to be convenient, tasty, and healthy.  It starts at $55 per week.

You can have the meals delivered to you or pick them up at the restaurant on Sundays and Mondays.
