Starting Friday, zombies will take over the city for Zombie Town U.S.A., But don’t be alarmed – those zombies are just people playing dress up for a fun welcome back party.

 

The organizers of the event want to welcome Penn State Altoona students back to town with a family friendly event and show locals that downtown Altoona is a fun place to be! 

 

There are several events planned for the weekend.

 

It all kicks off at 9:30 Friday morning at Saint Luke’s Safe House. There, you will be able to drop off food to be donated to several local charities. 

 

You can also head to the “Blood Frenzy Blood Drive” organized by the Red Cross at the Railroaders Memorial Museum beginning at 11 a.m.

 

Things will really get scary at 7:00 p.m. Friday, with a showing of Tim Burton’s The Corpse Bride at at Saint Luke’s Church.

 

And then for the adult zombies, you can head to the Zombie Town after party at McGarvey’s Bar and Grill.
