Firefighters say a woman was run over by her own vehicle after hitting a deer near Mahaffey.

It happened around midnight Friday on Highway 219 near McCracken Lane.

The woman hit a deer, then got out, forgot to put the SUV in park, and it ran over her leg, apparently breaking a bone, Fire Chief Bryan Sheeder said.

Sheeder says the woman was on the way home from work at Clearfield Hospital, and was then rushed back to the hospital.
