A committee of local residents is accepting donations on behalf of senior citizens affected by the water supply in the borough.

The first committee meeting for the “Water for Seniors Drive” will take place tonight at 6 p.m. at the Sons of Italy Club in Patton.

The committee of five members was created after seniors expressed concerns for their health.

The group will collect and distribute the donated water bottles until the water supply is fixed.

Thirty-six cases have been donated so far, by different businesses in the area.

They hope to help areas of Patton, Elder Township and Hastings.

Later this week, Representative Frank Burns will be meeting with residents to address their concerns, Thursday, May 26 at the Patton Senior Center at 6 p.m.
