March 29 has now been recognized by Congress and designated as “National Vietnam War Veteran’s Day.”
Three local organizations, Veteran Community Initiatives, Inc. (VCI), Vietnam Veteran of America Chapter #364, and the Conemaugh Valley Veterans, will be celebrating this national holiday by hosting a special “Vietnam Era Veteran Celebration Day.”
The event will be March 29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the 1st Summit Area-Cambria County War memorial.
The event will include a celebration of Vietnam era memorabilia, photographs from the iconic 2015 Vietnam Era Veteran Recognition Ceremony hosted by VCI, and music from Three of Hearts Band.
A light lunch will be provided after a brief Veteran Thank You and Support Recognition Award presentation to two veteran volunteers from the community.
Reservations are not required. Anyone with questions can contact Tom Caulfield or Amber Wilson at the VCI office at 814-255-0355.
