A local hospital decides to go it alone, for now. Leaders at Tyrone Regional Health System announced Tuesday that discussions with Penn State Health are off.
The boards of directors and leadership teams of both organizations have been discussing a possible partnership for the past 12 months. The president of Tyrone Hospital’s Board says the 2 sides have agreed that an affiliation is not appropriate at this time.
Board President Kelly Wike says Tyrone Regional remains committed to offering the community local healthcare choice, but will continue to examine any and all partnership opportunities.
