Police in Cambria County no longer have to wait for EMS to arrive to save an overdose victim.
District Attorney Kelly Callihan said the first use of Narcan by police in Cambria County occurred Thursday night, just before 8 p.m., while Johnstown Police were on the scene of an overdose on Messenger Street in Johnstown.
Two doses of Narcan were administered.
A dose was given to another suspected overdose victim on Central Avenue.
