What can trout teach a child about the environment? Students found out at Saint Benedict School, in Carrolltown, Cambria County, on Monday. 
 
It’s all part of a national program called “Trout in the Classroom.” 
 
The students learned about water erosion, pollution and water quality, something Jerry Green with Trout Unlimited, says is important. 
 
“Slowly but surely people are learning the value of clean water, we’re just trying to plant the seed earlier,” he said.
 
When this program started 10 years ago, there were just 11 schools involved in our state.  Today, 311 schools participate in “Trout in the Classroom.
