Tributes can be seen across the region for fallen Trooper Landon Weaver.

The Altoona Curve put Trooper Weaver’s name up in lights as a reminder for those who drive by and the Because We Care Foundation and Keystone Pinups are making t-shirts, where proceeds will benefit Landon Weaver’s family.

Weaver, a Martinsburg native, graduated from Central High School in 2012 and on the day of his funeral, the streets have filled up with people paying their respects.

Trooper Weaver is remembered not only as a dedicated police officer, but as a loving and caring person.

Weaver and his wife, Macy were high school sweethearts. The two married in the summer of 2016.  Students and staff returned to classes this week, shaken by the tragedy, sending cards to Weaver’s family and holding various fundraisers.

“It’s a very close knit community,” Superintendent Dr. Betsy Baker said. “Family of Landon and the friends of Landon, there are tons of those in our community and everybody is really coming together and really supporting each other and really hurting at this time.”

The superintendent and other teachers said Weaver has a lot of family and friends in this community and he was a student who everyone remembers in a very positive way.

WTAJ’s Lauren Handley is in Martinsburg, along the procession route, where he will be laid to rest.
