A state trooper is on trial in Clearfield after police say he attacked his wife and broke her rib.
We have more on what three witnesses told the jury today.
One witness testified about a strange encounter at a dinner party that same evening, before police were called to the trooper’s home.
The host said Terry Jordan, 47, Clearfield, and his wife showed up late and were last to leave.
After walking another guest out, he said he found the couple drunk and partly undressed, with Terry inviting him to join a sexual encounter and trying to touch him.
The “openly gay” host testified he stopped the awkward situation, and soon ushered the couple out.
“Deb gave me a hug where she didn’t want to let go. She whispered in my ear, ‘He scares me. I’m afraid of him,'” says Daniel Lanager.
Deb Jordan says when she got home, Terry punched her in the head, kicked, and choked her, saying to the jury: “I knew what I was gonna lose, but I had to. …He beat me up and put a gun to my head and I was frightened and in fear for my life. That’s why I called the police.”
An ER doctor, Dr. Ernest Jones, testified that she had bruises, scratches, and a broken rib.
Terry Jordan’s former mistress, Sherri Owens, testified that Terry showed up at 11:30 p.m. on that April night at her home, and told her: “I just beat the —- out of her and held a gun to her head.”
The trial involving aggravated assault charges is scheduled to last for two more days.
