A dangerous road in State College remains a concern for neighbors.

Manor Drive intersects East College Avenue. It’s a hill with an 18-percent slope. Residents who live at the top of the hill along Mountainview Avenue said they risk their lives driving down it, especially in the winter months.

Manor Drive is the only way out of the neighborhood.

A team of engineers is working on a solution, but township officials said they are expensive.

“At this point, some of the costs, improvement costs, could be assessed to the adjacent property owners, just for the improvements to the street to Mountainview Avenue,” Township Engineer Kent Baker, said. “But the accesses themselves, we would have to pick up under general tax dollars.”

There are six possible solutions. They will be presented to the township board Thursday night. The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.
