The Red, White and Blueberry Festival is back in Reynoldsville for the third year.

Co-chair Donna Price says her husband thought up the idea of a festival involving two nearby blueberry farms.

Price says when construction on I-80 sent oversize loads through town on Highway 322, the Reynoldsville Homecoming wasn’t allowed to shut down the street and went on hiatus.

Her festival filled the gap, using two vacant lots along Main Street instead.

Today, she brought some of her husband’s paintings in to set up at the Community Association.

“We’ll have trolley rides that are going throughout town to all of the different events, up to the blueberry farms, and a great blueberry pancake breakfast going on at the Foundry on the other end of town,” says Price.

A circus will also be in town and Price says anyone can watch them set up at 9 a.m. on Friday.

Other events scheduled this weekend will include fireworks, book signings, a quilt show and a kids’ pie-eating contest.
