Today marked the 37th anniversary of America’s worst commercial nuclear accident.
The partial meltdown inside the unit 2 reactor at the Three Mile Island plant near Middletown, Pennsylvania was a combination of human error and malfunctioning controls that caused tens of thousands of residents to evacuate for several days in 1979.
