Parents , if you have a high school senior, keep on reading!

An organization has free money for your student to go to college.

The Community Foundation for the Alleghenies says it has thousands of dollars in scholarships available  for students in 11 Pennsylvania counties.

Most of them in Bedford, Cambria, Indiana and Somerset counties.

CFA’s is partnered with the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA). As an approved PATH Match partner, scholarships delivered through the CFA can be doubled for students who attend Pennsylvania state schools

Plus, there’s a wide range of eligibility requirements.

”We have one for soccer player who’s a nice kid, we have one for the 10th ranked class member for the Johnston school district. Chances are if you go on the site and you’re a high school senior you’ll find something that you’ll be eligible to apply for, ” said Katrina Perkosky with CFA.

Mateson Fike graduated from Johnstown in 2016.

She received $3,000 thanks to the scholarship program last year.

“I was really grateful for them because I did not expect them at all, I wasn’t like top 10 or top 20 in my class or anything. I never expected anything to come out of high school senior year,” said Fike
