The man accused of shooting a child in Texas appeared in court today to be formally charged with Capital Murder.
Eric Black Jr., 20, was arrested in connection to the death of 7-year-old Jazmine Barnes. Barnes was in a car with her mother and three sisters in Houston last month, when someone in another vehicle opened fire on their car, hitting her in the head.
Prosecutors say Black was the driver of that vehicle, and another man opened fire. The suspects were allegedly retaliating for an earlier nightclub altercation, but instead shot at the mother and her family.
A second person, in jail on drug charges, is suspected to be the gunman in the shooting.
