Some local teens held a different type of pep rally Friday afternoon. They didn’t just focus on the upcoming high school football game, they were also drawing attention to activities planned for the sidelines.
The Fifth Annual Sideline Cancer Event at Tiger Stadium in Hollidaysburg is a night when students take the lead in raising awareness and funds to fight pancreatic and childhood cancer.
The Griffith Family Foundation organizes Sideline Cancer, which focuses on fighting pancreatic cancer. The group shared their event with the Brian Morden Foundation, which targets childhood cancer.
Cathy Griffith says both types of cancer are under funded.
