Police say a Ridgway teen had two reasons for running away from a car accident in DuBois.

The complaint says the car driven by Avarea Smith, 19, was stolen, and she was high on meth.

It happened on S. 8th and Maple Avenue around 3 p.m. yesterday. An officer found Smith running nearby and arrested her.

Police say Smith told them that her friend stole the car. The other two drivers in that car accident did not run away.

Smith is charged with DUI and receiving stolen property. Records show she was jailed with bail set at $10,000.
