As school begins, the negotiations continue in the DuBois Area School District after the contract for teachers lapsed.
The teachers’ contract expired on June 30, and they are still working under the terms of that contract, according to the union’s chief negotiator Dawna Vanderpool.
They have held some bargaining meetings this year, but none lately due to the ongoing search for a superintendent, Vanderpool said via e-mail.
Vanderpool says the meetings have been very cordial, and they look forward to reaching a resolution on a contract soon.
