By any definition, Pennsylvania is a swing state for the upcoming presidential election.

Voters in the state could make or break either party, making this year anything but predictable.

Cecilia Houser, a candidate seeking the State House seat in the 72nd District, said she’s seeing an increase in Republican supporters in the area.

Cambria County is known to vote Democrat but now it seems there is a possibility for a swing decision.

Houser said she’s encountered numerous people who are switching parties and she’s learned to “carry change of party forms when I’m knocking on doors because on average I’ll change two a day.”

Cambria County voter, Tara Adams, said she officially switched parties and now fully supports Donald Trump.

Currently, there is a waiting list in Cambria County for Donald Trump supporters who want a sign for their yard.

Over 500 people are on standby until signs become available.

“Oh it’s so tough. I just went to the headquarters down the road and honestly I’m number 85 on the waiting list for a sign for my yard,” Adams said.

Adams added that she needed to support the GOP because “I feel as younger person living here in Johnstown, I feel we need change, so that’s why I made the change.”

The shift started back in 2012 when the county favored Mitt Romney, and Republicans in Central Pennsylvania hope the trend continues.

Local voter, Kathy Knoll, said it’s an opportunity for the party to unite and show the strong support that we have in Pennsylvania. Make Hillary and the Democrats worried.”
