The DuBois school board approved their superintendent’s retirement this afternoon.
The board approved the agenda item for $71,000 in early severance for Mark Heckman with a retirement date of June 28, according to district secretary Danette Farrell.
Heckman said he was having back surgery and went on medical leave in January.
Also at Monday’s meeting, the board deferred an agenda item to give substitute superintendent Jackie Canter the permanent job at $130,000 for three years, Farrell said.
