JENNERSTOWN, SOMERSET COUNTY — WTAJ was the proud sponsor of Wednesday night’s opening show.
For 76 years now, the Mountain Playhouse has been bringing equity actors in, paired with local talent and set in a rural stage in the Laurel Mountains.
This musical begins the 12 week season with six productions planned.
As Mountain Playhouse Producer Teresa Stoughton Marafino explains, “It’s Cotton Patch Gospel – which is taken from the book and then Harry Chapin wrote the book – It’s actually the last thing Harry Chapin wrote and he was very very proud of it.”
