From Clearfield, students will now cook for the public three days a week.

The Culinary Cafe was previously for those in the building only, and now students are writing menus and making food for a wider audience, Clearfield County Career and Technology Center instructor Dan Schleiden said.

The salad bar, French fries, and chicken tenders will be ongoing, with other daily items.

About 30 students are involved, with the morning ones doing savory items, and the afternoon ones focusing on the pastries, Schleiden said. dan schleiden, ccctc chef instructor

“It’s making sure all your ducks are in the row and the students understand what’s at stake. This is a deadline and the whole point of this is to get as close to the real thing as possible,” says Schleiden.

Back in the kitchen, a couple students were working on a unique toilet-shaped cake that they say they’re making for a custodian’s birthday.

As for the cafe, it will be open on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
